APA reports that Kadri Simson, the energy commissioner of the European Union (EU), who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, said this during his speech at the 9th meeting of ministers within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council and the 1st meeting of ministers within the framework of the Green Energy Consultative Council.

Kadri Simson said that this meeting of the Advisory Council is an opportunity to show that the EU, Azerbaijan and other partners are working together to respond to the energy crisis and for stability.

According to the EU Commissioner Kadri Simson, there is a very successful cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan.

He added that the memorandum on strategic partnership in the field of energy between the EU and Azerbaijan shows that the Southern Gas Corridor has an important role for both the EU and Azerbaijan.

He reminded that the volume of gas through this corridor has increased and emphasized that the increase in this volume has made a significant contribution to the diversification of European energy resources, the stability and security of gas supply.
