The District Court in Razgrad convicted a 60-year-old man of concealment and non-payment of particularly large tax obligations.

He was found guilty of evading the payment of value added tax in the amount of BGN 63,574 and corporate tax in the amount of BGN 23,424, the press center of the judicial institution reported.

In the period from September 2019 to June 2020 in Razgrad, as the owner and manager of a commercial company, the man hid the truth in tax returns submitted to the Territorial Directorate of the National Revenue Agency - city of Varna, office Razgrad added value.

He used documents with false content - tax invoices and declared undelivered supplies of goods and services on tax invoices, deducted an unaccounted for tax credit.

For the committed act, the court sentenced the man to six months of "imprisonment", suspending his execution for a probationary period of three years. 

He must pay the state the sum of BGN 86,999, representing compensation for property damage caused by the crime.

The defendant will also have to pay BGN 1,200 in pre-trial costs to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as BGN 3,480 in state fees on the civil claim at the expense of the District Court in Razgrad, the spokeswoman for the judicial institution, Iliana Bancheva, specified.
