In 2019, the two fell out in love and went to court to fight for custody. Feeding her 2-year-old daughter with jam mixed with sleeping pills, Nv Zhang attempted to commit suicide, but the girl died unfortunately, and Nv Chen was sent to the hospital to save her life. The female was sentenced to 11 years and 10 months. The Supreme Court upheld the original sentence a few days ago, and the whole case was finalized.

Chen Nv and Zhang Nan gave birth to a daughter out of wedlock, and then fell out of love. In 2019, Chen Nv changed her relationship with a woman and registered her marriage, but still hoped to retain custody of her daughter, and then went to court with Zhang Nan to fight for her daughter. The family judge adopted the principle of "children follow the mother" and awarded custody to Ms. Chen.

Unexpectedly, Ms. Chen was in a poor mental state due to the lawsuit. On April 11, 2021, she mixed sleeping pills and other drugs into homemade strawberry jam and fed them to her 2-year-old daughter. She also attempted to die with her daughter.

When Ms. Chen's spouse returned home, he saw that the mother and daughter were unconscious, so he called 119 for help, but the girl still died. Ms. Chen survived the rescue and was sent to justice for homicide.

The Academy of First Instance pointed out that Ms. Chen ignored her ex-husband and others who could take care of her daughter, decided her daughter’s life and death at will, and deprived her of a young life that was just about to start and had no suicidal determination. As a result, her daughter was unable to start a bright life of her own; His long-term background is not smooth, and he also has thoughts of suicide, which is different from the general crime of killing for love, money or pure hatred. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the crime of homicide.

The whole case was appealed to the High Court. Ms. Chen argued that she regretted not being ready, and she did not seal the room. She fainted before her daughter fell asleep, causing her daughter's death. She pleaded guilty.

The High Court believed that Chen Nv had a heart of repentance, and her attitude after committing the crime was not the same as she always denied the crime in the first-instance judgment. The sentence was reduced to October 2011. The whole case was appealed to the Supreme Court.
