Despite the fact that the Russian military has now concentrated its forces in the east, an "unexpected active strike" in the south cannot be ruled out.

This was reported by the spokeswoman of the operational command "South" Nataliya Humenyuk on the air of the telethon.

"The fact that they are transferring more prepared forces to the east - it is clear that their priority is now concentrated there. But the southern region has always remained in their field of vision -

they do not let it out of control and keep it as an additional direction

on which they can an unexpected, active blow was inflicted, let's say," Humenyuk said.

She noted that the occupiers are constantly changing tactics, they are maneuvering with all available resources.

"Even if you observe the ship grouping, the carriers, even for no particular reason, can appear and go to the base points," Humenyuk explained.

Russia's new offensive

We will remind, at the end of January, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, warned that a new major offensive by the Russian invaders could begin in any direction.

However, the head of state is sure that the plans of the Russian Federation to occupy more territories of Ukraine will fail.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, also believes that Russia's new attack on Ukraine will not be the same as on the night of February 23-24, 2022, due to the enemy's lack of resources and the change in the position of the aggressor country.

The first to warn that the Russian Federation was

preparing for a new major offensive

against Ukraine was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Valery Zaluzhny.

According to him, for this purpose, Putin is gathering a group of up to 200,000 troops, which he can attack in January-February or in the spring.

In his opinion, Kyiv may be under threat.
