Listen to the news

Exactly 6 months ago, you assumed responsibility for running the country at a difficult time.

Forecasts foretold highly negative scenarios for the economy and people's well-being.

Blocked institutions, record fuel prices, galloping inflation, lack of gas, of contracts, of tenders, wild prices, frozen infrastructure projects, lack of laws on PPE, zero approved European programs for zero BGN, blockade of "Captain Andreevo", standstill in the modernization of the Bulgarian army, record migration pressure, war up to our borders.

With these words, President Rumen Radev

Rumen Georgiev Radev is a Bulgarian military man, major general from the reserve.

A former commander of addressed the service ministers at a ceremony where he set the main priorities of the new service cabinet.

"The priorities that I addressed to you were aimed at this focus, incl.

strengthening security, guaranteeing supplies, lowering the price of energy, strengthening European integration.

Despite the limited tools of an executive without parliamentary support, you managed to stop the free fall of the state, to hold fair elections, to find opportunities for the country.

Examples in energy - the completion of the Interconnector with Greece, transparent real auctions of liquefied natural gas were organized, reaching an agreement with Turkey.

We achieved diversification, which affected the price.

You have reduced the price of fuel to the lowest in Europe.

The caretaker government succeeded where the regulars could not or did not want Lukoil to pay taxes in our country," he continued.

"With all this, Bulgaria has turned from a country through which Russian gas is transited into a desired and sought-after partner and a valuable generator of ideas, with which we are putting us in a much better position in the Balkans."

Not only have we ensured our own security, but we also contribute to that of our partners.

The missing - almost all - laws on PVU were prepared and the implementation of this plan actually started.

The ministers toured the entire country to explain the opportunities to Bulgarian companies and enterprises.

For the first time, the state set foot on "Captain Andreevo", border control was strengthened and illegal migration was reduced," he also said.

He also ordered the mastery of the main factors generating inflation.

But let's not be fooled by the results achieved, because the prices of essential goods are inert and continue to rise.

"Bulgarians are impoverished, they live hard.

Your main priorities for this are to guarantee the purchasing power of citizens and fight poverty, support the vulnerable, limit speculation and monopolies, support native producers, attract foreign investment.

The main task is also the preparation of fair and transparent elections, which is complicated by the changes in the Electoral Law.

Security also remains an ongoing commitment of the government, I expect work on the modernization projects to continue to develop at the same pace.

I expect better border protection, fight against crime and war on the roads, drug distribution," added Radev.

First meeting of the new cabinet

He indicated as a priority that the construction of the Children's Hospital should continue, as well as the project for emergency medical assistance by air, the support of Bulgaria's leadership role through innovative ideas and projects that strengthen security, increased connectivity, economic exchange and mutual trust: "This is the role and place of Bulgaria that belongs to us.

Let's not forget - the bearer of the nation's future progress are the children of Bulgaria, regardless of who is in power.

Our daily task is precisely the physical and spiritual development of the young, the education in national love and devotion."

"Let it be clear - these priorities must work above all for the people and the Bulgarian citizens.

I expect other claims against you, because in your activity, you have proven that you have character and make responsible decisions for the future.

Lack of solutions today means decline and stagnation in the future.

I expect your decisions to be above all in the interest of the citizens, to offer a good basis for the next regular government to function with a flying start.

My choice is again on you," he added.

He thanked the former minister of culture, Prof. Velislav Minekov, who, according to the voice of the state, had given his all to solving the problems in culture.

"An extremely contested election campaign awaits us.

The parties again did not find the courage to take responsibility for governance in difficult times for the country, but most likely the participants in this campaign will try to extract dividends on your back, provoke you, justify their own failures with you and attribute your successes to themselves .

I urge you not to interfere in the campaign, but to stand up for the truth, your dignity.

Have a good time!” he wished.

Acting Prime Minister Galab Donev

Galab Donev was born in 1967 in Sofia.

Graduated from the 35th Russian Language High School in Sofia.

addressed his colleagues: "A presidential decree or a simple majority in the National Assembly cannot make you a minister or prime minister.

The appointment of this high position in the state depends on the choice of the president or political forces, but a minister is appointed after the first administrative decision, after the first clash with interests other than the public interest, after the first overcome crisis, after the first negotiation in which you did not back down and within a millimeter of the interest of Bulgaria, after the first and meaningful mistake."

"We were the hundredth government of Bulgaria until yesterday, today we are the 101st.

The reason is one - the 48th National Assembly, despite the stated ambition and demonstration of dialogue, failed to produce a regular government.

Being a minister for a second term has a serious advantage - you already know what's coming and you're ready for the second season of "political survivor".

We have the experience of the first term, we know what comes next, especially since the attack on some of us did not even wait for the announced end of the 48th NA," he continued.

"I heard yesterday what some former members of parliament expect from us.

As the first minister, I have the right and the privilege to tell the citizens what to expect from us in the coming months.

We will continue to responsibly and transparently do the work for which we were elected and appointed by the President.

Our priority will be the organization of fair and democratic free elections, this time the CEC can count on the cooperation and support of the government to deal with the difficulties related to the changes in the Electoral Code voted by the majority in the National Assembly.

As last year, we will not take part in the election campaign - this is not our stage.

We will respect the constitution and laws of the country and be guided by the interests of the citizens.

I wish you success, colleagues, thank you, Mr. President," concluded the Prime Minister.

Radev with decrees - officially dissolved the National Assembly, replaced only Minekov from the official cabinet

At the end of the speech, the ministers took the oath and gathered for a group photo.
