"It is the duty of the free world to resist Russia's tendency to reestablish empire. We can resist these tendencies, that's why Poland supports Ukraine, we are impressed by the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers."

APA reports that Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszak, who is on a visit to Ukraine, said this during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksiy Reznikov.

"We support Ukraine, because for us a free Ukraine is also a guarantee of a free Poland. President Lech Kaczynski was in Georgia in 2008. President Kaczynski said how bad the rebirth of the Russian empire would be for Poland and the world," said the Polish Defense Minister.

The Polish minister also spoke about the transfer of "Leopard" tanks to Ukraine.

"The first stage of the process of transfer of tanks is the training of Ukrainian soldiers, Poland has already joined this exercise, and Ukrainian soldiers have been selected. In a short time, the soldiers will be trained in Leopard tanks," the Minister of Defense informed.

Blaszak said that heavy armored vehicles are important for defense against Russian aggression.

According to him, the defense ministers of the countries that want to send these tanks to Ukraine have already made a statement, but the coalition will also make a final statement.

"We are waiting for the final declaration by the middle of February. The initiative to transfer tanks to Ukraine is gaining momentum," he stressed.

The Polish Minister of Defense noted that the creation of an international coalition on sending tanks was the initiative of the President of his country Andrzej Duda in a meeting with the President of Ukraine, and the realization of this initiative requires a lot of efforts and work.
