Pavlo Halimon and the house on Pechersk

Pavlo Halimon,

the deputy head of the "Servant of the People" faction, was one of the first to get into a scandal during the purge week  .

The reason was the investigation published by journalists, according to which Halimon bought an estate in Pechersk worth 10.3 million hryvnias during the full-scale war, although the market value of such a building is 50-60 million hryvnias.

The house is designed for his, probably, roommate, who purchased more than 40 plots of land in 2021.

Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine: Symonenko left

The high-profile dismissal took place in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The head of the body, Andriy Kostin, signed an order on the dismissal of his deputy

, Oleksiy Simonenko, at his own request.

He 

went on a 10-day vacation

 to Spain despite the direct ban of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

Scandal with Mykola Tyschenko

People's deputy

Mykola Tyshchenko

 announced on social networks that he is on a business trip to Asia and is fulfilling the task given to the deputies — "development of friendly relations in the direction of Asia and Africa."

On January 26, the Embassy of Ukraine in Thailand announced a meeting between Mykola Tyshchenko and representatives of the Ukrainian community at the Novotel Hotel.

The deputy did not name the budget for the trip, only adding that this amount will be declared.

However, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada 

Ruslan Stefanchuk

 claims that he

 did not send Tyshchenko abroad

.

"As the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I did not sign the order for a business trip to Thailand," Stefanchuk emphasized.

After the scandal with Tyshchenko, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that officials, deputies and all civil servants can go abroad only by decision of the National Security and Defense Council.

On January 23, the NSDC banned officials from traveling abroad without a valid reason.

In the wake of popular indignation, the deputy was expelled from the "Servant of the People" parliamentary faction, depriving him of the position of deputy head of the faction.

Girls were humiliated on video: the police went to the organizers of "drunken parties"

A scandal broke out in social networks because

of "drunken parties",

during which the organizers recorded humiliating videos with girls.

TV presenter Yaroslava Kravchenko claimed that the guys who came to Kyiv from Ivano-Frankivsk allegedly "pumped" the participants with alcohol and a tranquilizer, after which they distributed intimate videos with their participation in closed Telegram channels.

After publicity in social networks, the police rushed to search the organizers of "drunken parties".

According to him, operatives together with prosecutors conducted searches at the place of residence of the suspects in Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The security forces established that the

organizers of the "drunken parties"

and the authors of the humiliating videos with the girls are two friends who distributed the videos of an intimate nature on social networks.

The men were detained and sent to a detention center.

The two friends were charged under Part 3 of Article 301 of the Criminal Code — "Production, sale and distribution of pornographic materials."

If the detainees are proven guilty in court, they face from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

Searches of Kolomoiskyi and Avakov

The Security Service of Ukraine searched Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky on the morning of February 1.

It is reported that the security forces revealed a large-scale embezzlement scheme of UAH 40 billion by the former manager of the Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta companies. 

Within the criminal proceedings, 10 episodes of criminal activity were documented. 

The SBU and the SBU also searched the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,

Arsen Avakov.

The reason, as the ex-official himself said, was the consideration of the case on the purchase of Airbus helicopters of French proceedings.

"We finished the search regarding the helicopter accident. We looked at Airbus contracts from 6 years ago. Of course, nothing," Avakov explained to journalists, noting that the contracts were approved by the government and parliament.

In May 2018, representatives of Ukraine and France signed an agreement in Paris for 552 million euros, which provided for the supply of 55 helicopters.

On one of the helicopters purchased in France — Super Puma (Airbus Helicopters H225) — the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, and other representatives of the department's leadership crashed in Brovary.

Avakov called the conducted searches a rehearsing of one of the versions of the tragedy in Brovary and said that the representatives of the investigation were correct, but at the same time, the expediency of the search six years after the conclusion of the contract, in his opinion, "looks a little stupid."

The head of Kyiv's tax department was exposed in multimillion-dollar schemes.

The SBI will investigate her luxurious life

The State Bureau of Investigation reported the exposure of Acting

the head of the tax service of Kyiv ,

Oksana Datia

, who is accused of multimillion-dollar fraud. 

According to the agency, Oksana Datiy abused her official position and made decisions about non-compliance with the risk criteria of taxpayers for a number of enterprises for an illegal benefit.

In addition, according to the SBI, the suspect, through her proxies, implemented schemes for the artificial overestimation of gross costs by some firms, conducting business without registering a sole proprietorship, and providing unreliable information about income.

Such schemes led to the fact that more than 15 billion hryvnias fell into shadow circulation.

Another episode, in which the management of the tax service appears, is related to the illegal receipt of VAT refunds, in connection with which about 30 billion hryvnias went "into the shadows".

Separately, the SBI is investigating Oksana Datia's lifestyle, which does not correspond to her official income.

Topchynovnytsia, according to security officials,

has three apartments in the capital worth about $1 million, a private house for $200,000 and two cars valued at $150,000.

The publication "Ukrainian Pravda" claims that during searches of Oksana Datia, law enforcement officers also found wish lists that she had made.

The wish list 

includes:

  • a trip to London and the Maldives

  • Breguet luxury watch

  • earn a million dollars

  • completion of renovation in the new apartment

Millions in cash under the sofa of the ex-deputy minister of defense

The publication "Ukrainian Pravda" published a video of the searches that took place in August 2022 at the former Deputy Minister of Defense

Oleksandr Myronyuk.

He is a suspect in an investigation into fraud in procurement for the army. 

According to journalists, during the searches,

more than 17 million hryvnias, about 400 thousand euros and more than 100 thousand dollars in cash were found

in Myronyuk's possession .

It is reported that in 2020-2021, the ex-deputy minister was engaged in the procurement department of the Ministry of Defense.

Immediately after the searches, according to the UP, Myronyuk submitted a notarized statement to the court that the money in the couch was not his.

He made the statement a week after the searches, it stated that 86-year-old Kharkiv resident Eleonora Duminsh had lent money to the former deputy minister.

Language scandal at the university

A language scandal broke out

at the State University of Trade and Economics ,

as a result of which the university dismissed one of the teachers.

She gave lectures in Russian, and after a request to switch to Ukrainian, which is required by law, she offered the students to go to the front.

"And why are you here, why aren't you at the front? You are 18 years old. Why aren't you in the volunteers, tell me? I have a question for you. I, a Russian-speaker, want to ask Ukrainian-speakers - why are you sitting at home, why are your parents at home sitting?"

asked the teacher.

The students recorded the conversation and posted it on social networks.

After the publicity, the university fired the teacher.

"DTEU takes a categorical position regarding the observance of language legislation, ensures the education of patriotism and consciousness of the youth of Ukraine," - says the message on the university's official Facebook page.

The government dismissed the management of the customs office

The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the leadership of the

State Customs Service.

Acting Vyacheslav Demchenko was dismissed from his post.

His deputy Oleksandr Shchutskyi was also dismissed.

In addition,

customs

instituted disciplinary proceedings against another deputy, Ruslan Cherkaskyi.

He was suspended from his post for the period of the investigation.

Demchenko's deputy Serhiy Zvyagintsev will temporarily perform the duties of the head of customs.

The court took the ex-deputy minister of defense into custody

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv arrested the former Deputy Minister of Defense

V'yacheslav Shapovalov.

He is suspected of purchasing food for the armed forces at inflated prices.

The court arrested Shapovalov for two months.

He also determined an alternative to arrest - bail in the amount of 402 million 600 thousand hryvnias.

It will be recalled that on January 21, journalists of the ZN.ua publication accused

the Ministry of Defense

 of purchasing food products at several times inflated prices.

The article stated that prices for products are three times higher than retail prices in Kyiv supermarkets.

The agreement worth 13.16 billion hryvnias was concluded on December 23, 2022, the publication writes.

It is about providing food to military units stationed in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Cherkasy regions.
