"Gas supply from Azerbaijan to the EU has increased.

This coincides with our growing diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan."

APA reports that Kadri Simson, the energy commissioner of the European Union (EU), who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, said this during his speech at the 9th meeting of ministers within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council and the 1st meeting of ministers within the framework of the Green Energy Consultative Council.

"There is a mutual determination to turn the current crisis into an opportunity.

We should also pay attention to what point this cooperation will bring us in the future.

In the coming decades, natural gas will play an important role in Europe's energy transition," said the EU energy commissioner.

Kadri Simson added that CNG will remain one of the stable and competitive sources of pipeline gas to the EU.

According to him, this also creates an opportunity for other countries in the Caspian region to join this project.

Kadri Simson also spoke about the EU's interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energy.

The energy commissioner of the EU emphasized Azerbaijan's potential in the field of wind energy: "Azerbaijan has the potential to become a country that exports renewable energy and hydrogen energy to the EU.

Our "EU for Energy" program is already supporting Azerbaijan in this direction.

We provide technology and private investment."
