In the Cherkasy region, a 31-year-old resident of the Uman district is accused of evading the draft for military service during mobilization in a special period.

As reported in the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, an indictment has been sent to the court against him.

According to the investigation, the man, who was deemed fit for military service by the decision of the military medical commission, having received a summons to report to the Uman District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, deliberately evaded conscription.  

Proceedings have been opened against him under Art.

336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

If found guilty, the suspect faces up to five years in prison.
