In a speech before the Assembly, Vucic presented the foundations of the country's future policy.

The majority welcomed him with prolonged applause and shouts, as the only president in the history of Serbia who came to debates on Kosovo in the Assembly, BNT reports.

In his speech, Vucic said that Serbia should continue talks with Kosovo to normalize relations.

Vucic: Kosovo's goal is to provoke a military conflict

Last month, Kosovo and Serbia were presented with an 11-point plan to normalize relations, under which the two countries must send official representatives to the capitals and work to reach a compromise.

Serbia will not recognize Kosovo's independence, but must stop obstructing Pristina's membership in international institutions.

The first step in this dialogue should be the creation of the Kosovo Association of Serbian Municipalities, as was agreed back in 2013.

In front of the parliament, Vucic warned that if Serbia does not accept this proposal, the EU membership negotiations will be terminated, and with them the access to pre-accession funds.
