New details of the high-profile story about the

detention of high-ranking police officers by SBU officers

who, according to the investigation, "crushed" prostitution in the capital and other regions, became known.

We will remind, the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine reported the other day that as a result of investigative and operational actions, the special service officers detained the deputy head of the Department of Migration Police, the head of the department of the specialized unit of the capital police and twelve other members of the group.

"The monthly "profits" of the organizers of the illegal business amounted to more than UAH 50 million. According to the investigation, the officials "covered up" the activities of an extensive network of places of debauchery in Kyiv. Girls aged 18 to 30 with a vulnerable psycho-emotional state were recruited to such "facilities". Based on the collected evidence, more than 20 persons were notified of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,"

the SBU press service

reported .

As an informed source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs told in a comment for

TSN.ua

, at one time the aforementioned deputy head of the department was appointed on the recommendation of the now former deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine.

"He, the deputy head of the department, was, as far as I know, a protégé of the former deputy head of the National Police. That is, he is his person. For what purpose - we can only guess - says our interlocutor. - A scheme with the recruitment of girls who, according to the SBU, were in in a difficult psycho-emotional state, looked like this: recruiters found attractive women who had a good appearance, but wanted to improve their financial situation. For example, those who left the occupied territories and were forced to live in dormitories. They were offered quick, substantial money to rent a nice apartment in the capital. Also, pimps did not ignore girls from those families with a difficult financial situation. I'll be honest, I was personally surprised by the amount of earnings - 50 million hryvnias every month. Apparently, the SBU knows more than I do. If this is so, then this means, that the group organized a very extensive business."

In turn, our sources in the SBU say that, according to the investigation, the group's profits were insane: up to $10,000 in one night.

In addition, the law enforcement officers do not rule out, but have not officially confirmed yet, that policemen brought customers to prostitutes during the curfew.
