A sub-inspector posted at Sikandra police station in Agra has been suspended for allegedly assaulting and indecently assaulting women.

An officer gave this information.

The police department took this action after the video of the incident was circulated on social media.

According to the information, Inspector Deepak Chauhan, posted at Sikandra police station, had gone to raid the Sikandra Division Chowki area last night to nab an accused.

Seeing the police, people gathered there and stopped the police, in which women were also involved. 

It is alleged that during the altercation, the inspector allegedly misbehaved with the women and abused them.

It is alleged that the inspector also slapped the women.

Someone present there made a video of this incident and circulated it on social media. 

Taking cognizance of the video surfaced on social media, Deputy Commissioner of Police, City Zone Vikas Kumar has suspended the accused inspector.

According to the police, the entire episode is being investigated.
