District Prosecutor's Office - Silistra leads pre-trial proceedings for illegal possession of an automatic firearm and resistance to the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In connection with the case, 39-year-old Y.K. is expected to be brought to criminal responsibility.

339 and Art.

270 of the Criminal Code.

A car driven by the accused was stopped for inspection around 17:00 on February 2, 2023.

The man initially stopped at a stop sign, but when his documents were requested, he sped away from the police team.

A chase ensued.

 The accused left the city in the direction of the village of Shumentsi, after which he entered an unregulated Polish road.

He was caught and stopped by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Silistra.

A search of his vehicle turned up an illegally owned automatic pistol with 6 rounds in the magazine, and another 12 rounds were found in a stash under the driver's seat.

Also found were 2 sabers, 2 knives, a box and a metal police baton.

Work on the investigation of the case continues under the guidance and supervision of the Silistre District Prosecutor's Office.
