During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi enjoyed snowfall in Gulmarg.

New Delhi:

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take appropriate steps to address the concerns of Kashmiri Pandit employees.

Also, they should not be forced to work in Kashmir Valley without guarantee of security.

Rahul Gandhi also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister claiming that the attitude of the Jammu and Kashmir administration towards Kashmiri Pandit employees is insensitive.

Rahul Gandhi said in the letter, "The recent selective killings of Kashmiri Pandits and others by terrorists have created an atmosphere of fear and despair in the valley."

Prime Minister, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met me and narrated their sad circumstances.

It is a cruel step to force Kashmiri Pandits, the victims of targeted killing by terrorists, to go to the valley without any security guarantee.

Hope you will take appropriate steps in this matter.

He said, “Prime Minister, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met me regarding their problems at the Jammu leg of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite the whole of India in the thread of love and unity.

He informed that government officials are forcing him to go back to work in the Kashmir Valley.

According to the Congress MP, in these circumstances it is a cruel move to force them to go to work in the valley without any sure guarantee of safety and security.

Till the situation improves and becomes normal, the government can take services from these Kashmiri Pandit employees in other administrative and public works.

Rahul Gandhi claimed, “Today, when the Kashmiri Pandits, pleading for their safety and family concerns, are expecting sympathy and affection from the government, then the Lieutenant Governor (Manoj Sinha) used words like 'beggars' for them. Use of is irresponsible.

Prime Minister, you may not be familiar with this insensitive style of local administration."

He said, “I have assured the Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters that I will try my best to convey their concerns and demands to you.

I hope that as soon as you get this information, you will take appropriate steps in this regard.
