"We are paying Russia the price for this terrible war it started."

APA reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

Ursula von der Leyen said that the strong sanctions imposed by the EU and its partners on Russia seriously affect the economy of this country.

According to him, energy restrictions cost Russia 160 million euros per day.

"Our pressure will increase with new measures," he said.

The President of the European Commission added that the EU and G7 countries are planning to set a new limit on the price of Russian oil and oil products.

President Ursula von der Leyen noted that before Russia started this war, the EU spoke very clearly and gave its warning that Russia would be forced to pay a price.

"On the anniversary of the start of this large-scale invasion, our tenth package of sanctions will be ready," added Ursula von der Leyen.

He stressed that Russia will have to pay for the destruction it caused in Ukraine and will have to allocate funds for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

"In other words, Russian funds will be used for the benefit of Ukraine.

We will decide how to do it," the President of the European Commission said.
