The European Union (EU) Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM) has confirmed that the number of Ukrainian soldiers to be trained will be doubled.

APA reports that Joseph Borrell, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs, said this in his tweet about his meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine in Kyiv.

"Russia has brought the war back to Europe, but Ukraine continues to fight. The EU Military Assistance Mission will train an additional 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers and EUMAM will bring the total number of trained personnel to 30,000. The Prime Minister also asked the EU to support demining efforts in threatened areas. I announced that 25 million euros will be allocated. Protecting the civilian population is a priority," Borrell said.
