The head of the foreign affairs department of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that 15,000 Ukrainian military personnel will undergo additional training in EU countries.

He wrote about it on Twitter.

"I am glad to inform Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal that the EU Military Assistance Mission EUMAM will train an additional 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers, bringing the total number of trained personnel to 30,000," the post reads.

Josep Borrell added that "Russia has returned the war to Europe, but Ukraine continues to fight back."

Russia brought war back to Europe, but Ukraine keeps fighting back.

Glad to announce to PM @Denys_Shmyhal that EU Military Assistance Mission #EUMAM will train additional 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers, taking the total number of EUMAM trained personnel to 30,000.

According to Sky News, the Ukrainian military will undergo special training, as well as "technical briefing" for the new equipment, in particular for the Leopard-2 tanks, the German-made machines that Berlin recently approved for shipment to Ukraine.

The program, which officially started in November, is aimed at increasing the military capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine so that they can defend their country against Russian aggression.

It will be recalled that earlier the State Secretary for Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Tamas Mentser, stated that Budapest will not train the Ukrainian military on its territory.

He said that Hungary "wants to move not to war, but to peace."
