Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav targeted the Centre.

Patna:

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has expressed disappointment over the budgetary announcements made by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

He alleged on Wednesday that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Center has once again betrayed the people of Bihar.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on the questions asked about the budget, "I could not listen to the budget speech this time, because I am busy in my journey (Samadhan Yatra)." He started his journey in Supaul on Wednesday. "I will definitely comment on it after seeing the budget," he told reporters.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are unfulfilled.

He said, “When the BJP government came to power in 2014, the Narendra Modi government had promised to double the income of farmers.

They (the central government) had promised to provide 80 crore jobs/employment by 2022.

Now the year 2023 has come, but his habit of jumlebaazi has not gone.

Nirmala Sitharaman presented the last full budget of the second term of the Modi-led government on Wednesday.

The RJD leader said, "Bihar has given 100 per cent MPs to the BJP and its alliance partners, but they have betrayed the people of Bihar."

Expressing a similar opinion, Bihar's Congress unit chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh termed the Union Budget as extremely disappointing.

He alleged that the budget presented by the Union Finance Minister is only for the rich.

He said that there is nothing in it for the poor and there is nothing in it for the medium or small scale businessmen.

Meanwhile, while praising the Union Budget 2023, senior BJP leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi said, "The general budget of Amrit Kaal will provide a strong impetus to development, especially in Bihar."

The state will get Rs 1.7 lakh crore from the Centre's tax collection in the current financial year.

He said, "Bihar will get additional assistance of Rs 13,000 crore from the central government without any interest.

Apart from this, the state will get maximum benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

He claimed that as far as Nitish Kumar's demand for a special package to Bihar is concerned, the proposal was rejected by the Center during the previous United Progressive Alliance government.
