A 16-year-old student from the village of Gabrovnica in the municipality of Montana received an effective sentence for a series of thefts by the court in Montana.

Two other minors were given conditional sentences for complicity in the thefts, the Montana Courthouse announced.

On April 11, 2021, D.N.T.

by breaking down a barrier he entered the home of his fellow villager in Gabrovnitsa and stole a mobile phone for BGN 62.

The theft was committed as a continuing offense and recidivism.

In the following two days - on April 12 and 13, 2021, D.T.N., after a preliminary agreement with the minor brothers I.T.V. and K.T.V. from Gabrovnitsa, jumped over a twice-high fence on the property of T.C.K.

in the village and stole 800 BGN.

The court found the three students guilty and sentenced the brothers to 6 months in prison, suspended, and D.T.N., who previously had three convictions for theft, to 8 months in prison effectively.

The sentence is to be served in the Correctional Facility attached to the prison in Vratsa.
