Today, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with the delegation led by Muhammad Iqbal, the head of the Indonesian-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, who is on a visit to our country.

According to the press and public relations department of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova said that the current state of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia is satisfactory.

Sahiba Gafarova spoke about the close cooperation of our countries in international organizations such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and noted that Indonesia's always supporting Azerbaijan in these organizations is highly appreciated in our country.

Emphasizing the important role of inter-parliamentary relations in the development of relations between our states, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis spoke about the importance of further expansion of effective cooperation of legislative bodies, as well as the importance of relations at the level of friendship groups.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, in particular, noted the cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, and highly appreciated the participation of Indonesian House of Representatives Chairman Puan Maharani in the founding conference of the Parliamentary Network held in Madrid, as well as the participation of the Indonesian delegation in the Baku Conference of this organization held on June 30 - July 1 last year.
