The Security Service reported the suspicion of the head of one of the departments of the State Service for Medicinal Products and Narcotics Control, who contributed to the importation and sale of falsified

drugs

to Ukraine .

Law enforcement officers exposed and blocked the illegal mechanism of entry into the Ukrainian market of a large batch of low-quality foreign medicines for a total amount of over UAH 32 million.

The investigation established that the official contributed to the approval of false information about medicinal products in official documents for the benefit of a private entrepreneur.

"The conclusions of comprehensive examinations confirmed the non-compliance of imported medicines with the norms of the legislation of Ukraine," the message reads.

The head of a commercial structure and a civil servant were notified of the suspicion of committing a crime under Art.

321-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Falsification of medicinal products or circulation of falsified medicinal products).

The Security Service of Ukraine continues to identify all persons who may be involved in the commission of an offense.

"Measures are being taken to remove falsified medicinal products from circulation," the SBU said.

It will be recalled that the officials of Odesa OVA were
