The head of the Foreign Ministry of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Serhiy Lavrov, accused

Moldova

of wanting to join NATO, saying that the country is being turned into "anti-Russia".

Kishinev responded to Lavrov's accusations, saying that Lavrov's statement is part of the Russian diplomat's already known threatening rhetoric.

Lavrov made the corresponding statement in another interview with a Russian propaganda TV channel.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moldova allegedly "came under the influence of the West" after Ukraine.

At the same time, Lavrov considers President Maya Sanda "illegally elected".

He accused Sanda of the fact that the president is "craving for NATO" and "having Romanian citizenship, is ready to unite with Romania."

"Moldova is one of the countries that the West wants to turn into another anti-Russia. It tried and is trying to do the same with Georgia," - this is how Lavrov answered the question of which country around Russia could follow the path of Ukraine.

This is one of the countries that the West wants to turn into another anti-Russia," he said.

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova responded that Lavrov's statement is part of the already known threatening rhetoric of the Russian diplomat.

Moldova

reminded Russia about democracy and freedom of choice.

"We remind the Russian side that Moldova is on the path of European integration. Moldova and its residents, regardless of political or geopolitical preferences, strive for peace, freedom and democracy. We will be grateful to all countries, including Russia, for respecting the decision of our people. Moldova has clearly chosen its future, and this future is to be part of the free world," the ministry said in a statement.

We will remind you that earlier, a member of the Moldovan parliament from the pro-government Action and Solidarity party, to which President Maya Sandu belongs, proposed to solve the Transnistria

problem with the participation of Ukraine and NATO.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova believes that

Ukraine's victory in the war with the Russian Federation will contribute to the withdrawal of Russian troops from self-proclaimed Transnistria.

Meanwhile, Moldovan President Maia Sandu is asking allies to strengthen the country's air defense capabilities.

According to her,

Moscow is trying to destabilize her country.

The head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Aleksandra Mustiatse, warned about

Russia's plans to invade Moldova in 2023.

According to him, the implementation of this scenario depends on the development of the war in Ukraine.

According to military commentator Denys Popovych, the

Russian threat is real for Moldova

, and the state of the Moldovan army wishes for the best.

Former deputy head of the SBU, Viktor Yagun, considers

Moldova's statement regarding Russia's possible attack in 2023 critical.
