The Union of Democratic Forces (SDS) is a Bulgarian right-wing political party, the successor of the last three parliaments.

Last day of the 48th Ordinary National Assembly.

It began with the sacred moment when a colleague filmed himself swearing not on the constitution but on his stomach (probably among the few sincere MPs, which doesn't make him smart, though).

He finished with the president's command: "All successful ministers, to the next term - hoooodom march! Minekov, where have you been?!" Colleague Petar Nikolov pointed out that in less than 2 years the president has already fired us for the fourth time ( maybe it's a personal attitude?!).

At first reading, it seems that we MPs have ourselves to blame for the inability to form a regular cabinet.

Despite its short life, the Forty-Eighth Parliament was much better than the previous three.

Quite a few really useful legislative changes are over.

So the Arab proverb: "They asked the camel why its neck is crooked, and it answered - what right do I have?!"

is not valid in this case.

It is an alphabetic truth that no elected official has ever been able to rise above the level of his constituents.

And the big question is: are we Bulgarians really as divided as we were deputies in the 48th parliament?

Will the elections on April 2 be able to answer this question?!

I'm not sure, but I'm sure I'll keep trying to heal the splits... As always, I'm an optimist: it could always be worse!
