Next week, the Ukrainian military will begin training on

Leopard 2

tanks .

This is reported by the Financial Times.

According to the publication, Western partners want to have time to hand over tanks to Ukraine before the start of Russia's possible spring offensive, so the armed forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will start training as early as next week.

Details of the training plan were discussed at a US-led meeting of Western defense officials in Germany on Wednesday, February 1.

The training is expected to last about six weeks.

According to the publication, hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers have already been sent to Poland and Germany for training.

As a reminder,

Poland wants to halve the training of

Ukrainian defenders on the Leopard so that the equipment is on the battlefield as soon as possible.
