The general director of YASNO energy company Serhii Kovalenko reported on the electricity situation in Kyiv and explained how the amount in the electricity bill is formed.

He wrote about it on the Internet.

Thus, Kovalenko noted that "as long as the weather is warm, we have a little more light."

As of February 3, the following

restrictions on electricity supply are foreseen: for Kyiv

- 1,080 MW during the day and 692 MW at night;

for Dnipropetrovsk region – 1328 MW during the day and 1262 MW at night.

Regarding the formation of the amount in the electricity bill

, the general director of YASNO explained that the main thing in this process is for the consumer to submit the meter readings in time.

"Then it's a matter of mathematics: OSR (distribution system operator - ed.) calculates the client's consumption volume, transmits this data to YASNO, we multiply the volume by the tariff, take into account overpayment or debt and issue the final bill. No magic or tricks," Kovalenko explained.

He added that consumers who regularly submit meter readings usually have no questions about the amount on their bill.

At the same time, the general director of YASNO would like to draw attention to the fact that in December, 34% of Kyiv residents and 29% of Dnipropetrovsk residents did not report their meter readings.

For them

, the situation with the formation of the amount in the account will be different.

"The OSR must calculate their consumption "on average", these are the rules. That is, the readings of past periods are taken and the average daily consumption is determined. And it can differ significantly from what the client actually used. That's when the story about expectations/reality comes out:

as if they used less electricity, but the amount did not change or even increased

," explained Kovalenko.

In this case, the consumer will have to pay the entire amount, and the next month - submit the meter reading on time, and then the recalculation will be made.

In this case, the overpayment for the previous month will be included in the payment for the next month.

The general director of YASNO noted that February 3 is the last day when Kyiv residents can submit electricity meter readings.

We would like to remind you that in Ukraine electricity is paid according to established tariffs, which depend on the number of kilowatts consumed.

So, if less than 250 kilowatt-hours are consumed, the tariff will be UAH 1.44, if more, then the tariff will be UAH 1.64.

Note that YASNO previously explained how power outage groups are formed.
