Three farmers accused in the Tikunia violence case that took place on October 3, 2021 in Lakhimpur Kheri district were released from the district jail on Wednesday evening and another accused farmer on Tuesday.

An official of the district jail confirmed this on Wednesday evening.

Jailor of Kheri District Jail Pankaj Singh said that three accused Gurvinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Kamaljit Singh were released from jail on Wednesday after the order of release from the competent court, while Vichitra Singh was released on Tuesday evening. .

Meanwhile, President of the district unit of Bhartiya Kisan Union- Tikait (Bhakyu-Tikait) Dilbag Singh reached the main gate of the jail along with other leaders and family members of the four farmers and congratulated the four farmers on their release from jail.

These four farmers were made accused in connection with the murder of two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and a driver in Tikunia violence.

He was arrested in the same month and since then he was in jail.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court on January 25 granted interim bail to Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in 2021 for eight weeks and directed him to leave Uttar Pradesh within a week of his release from jail. .

The court suo motu exercised its constitutional powers and directed the release of the four accused - Gurvinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Vichitra Singh - on interim bail till further orders.

These accused were arrested in connection with a separate FIR.
