Today the minimum and maximum temperature in Delhi can be around nine and 22 degree Celsius respectively.

New Delhi:

The maximum temperature was recorded one degree Celsius below normal on Wednesday due to cold winds in the national capital.

The maximum temperature in Delhi was 21.6 degree Celsius, which was one degree Celsius less than the average temperature of the season.

Although the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.6 degree Celsius, which is normal according to the weather at this time.

Officials of the Meteorological Department (IMD) have predicted a mainly clear sky on Thursday, while the minimum and maximum temperature could be around nine and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The IMD said on Wednesday that northwest India is likely to receive normal rainfall in February, while there is less chance of cold wave in the region.

The IMD said that the minimum temperature is likely to be normal to below normal in most parts of the country except the northeast and adjoining eastern parts.

IMD Director General M. Mohapatra said that the maximum temperature is likely to be below normal over most parts of peninsular India during February.

Punjab and Haryana in the grip of cold


Most parts of Punjab and Haryana experienced severe cold on Wednesday as well and recorded a drop in the minimum temperature.

Fog also remained in some parts of Punjab and Haryana.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Punjab's Firozpur was recorded at 4.4 degree Celsius, Amritsar at 5.3 degree Celsius and Pathankot at 6.4 degree Celsius.

Whereas, Gurdaspur, Faridkot, Patiala and Ludhiana recorded minimum temperature of 5.5 degree Celsius, 5.4 degree Celsius, 7.8 degree Celsius and nine degree Celsius respectively.

Haryana is also in the grip of severe cold.

Sirsa in Haryana recorded a minimum temperature of 5.4 degree Celsius.

Apart from this, the minimum temperature in Karnal, Hisar, Bhiwani and Ambala was recorded at 7.2 °C, 7.9 °C, 8.7 °C, and 9.4 °C respectively.

Estimated decrease in minimum temperature in


Rajasthan Due to snowfall in hilly areas and northern icy winds, people in Rajasthan are feeling melting.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has forecast clear weather for the next four days and a decrease in night temperature.

A spokesman of the Meteorological Department said that in the state on Wednesday, the night temperature dropped up to six degrees Celsius in many cities including Ajmer, Udaipur, Barmer, Jodhpur.

Mount Abu, the only hill tourist destination in the state, recorded a low of minus one.

He told that the weather is likely to remain clear for the next three to four days and there is a possibility of a drop in the night temperature due to melting due to the influence of northern winds.

Avalanche alert in four districts of 


Kashmir Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday issued a moderate avalanche warning in four districts in view of the recent snowfall in the valley.

"There is a possibility of medium level avalanches above 2,400 meters in Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipora in the next 24 hours," an official said here. The official said that people have been advised not to go to avalanche-prone areas.
