announced the start of construction of a new gas pipeline to Serbia.

In this way, the countries want to reduce their dependence on the gas of the aggressor Russia.

This is reported by Reuters.

According to the Bulgarian Minister of Energy, Rossen Hristov, the new gas pipeline will allow gas to be supplied outside of the Russian Federation.

In addition, such construction will also increase the security of supplies of blue fuel to Southeast Europe.

The planned construction of a 170-kilometer long gas pipeline.

It will run from the Bulgarian city of Novy Iskir to Niš in Serbia.

It is planned to complete construction and put it into operation by the end of 2023.

The 62 km long section will run on the territory of Bulgaria.

Sofia plans to complete construction by the end of October.

Belgrade plans to complete construction within the country by autumn.

It is noted that the pipeline is partially financed by the aid of the European Union.

Gazogin will give Serbia access to non-Russian supplies from the Southern Gas Corridor and LNG terminals in Greece and Turkey.

It also diversifies the routes that connect Bulgaria to the European gas network.
