A three-member panel of the Court of Appeal - Sofia upheld the remand order "remand in custody" imposed on Krasimir Petrov, accused of murdering a shepherd in the Sofia village of Anton in February 2022, the court's press center reported.
According to the judges, there are no new circumstances that would justify a change in his measure, what's more – the testimony and expertise of the investigation confirm his participation and the cruelty of the murder committed, in which Petrov has a leading role.
The high public danger of the act, the gravity of what was done, as well as the characteristic data of the accused is a reason for the court to accept the existence of a danger both of absconding and of committing another crime by him in the event of a change in his measure.
The decision of the CAS is final and not subject to appeal or protest.
