Visva Bharati University has told Mamata Banerjee that we are better off without your blessings.

Kolkata:

The controversy that began over Visva Bharati University's allegation of illegal land grab by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen has now turned into a full-fledged political battle.

The university has issued a statement against Mamta Banerjee.

In the statement, the university said, "Visva Bharati is a central university. We are better off without your blessings, as we are accustomed to the guidance (guidance) of the Prime Minister."

The statement is signed by Visva-Bharati spokesperson Mahua Banerjee.

Amartya Sen accused of illegal land grab

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the university for accusing Nobel laureate Amartya Sen of illegal land grab.

Mamta Banerjee had shown the records of the state government and said that the land was actually given to Amartya Sen's father Ashutosh Sen.

That's why the university's statement that there is illegal occupation of the land is not correct.

After meeting Nobel laureate Amartya Sen, the chief minister told reporters, "I want to tell the truth based on information and that's why I have come here. You can say, for the insult done to him, I am giving these papers to Amartya Sen." Handing over. In future, BJP should not make such attempts to insult him. BJP supporters should also not do so."

Mamata Banerjee demanded an apology

Mamta Banerjee said that Visva-Bharati University should concentrate on running the university and should not try to saffronise the students.

Without naming the VC, Mamata Banerjee said that those who claim that they did not insult Amartya Sen, question his Nobel Prize.

Mamata Banerjee had also met the protesting students of Visva-Bharati University and assured them of all possible help to end the unrest on the campus.

Mamata Banerjee said, "It is the responsibility of all of us to oppose and save Visva-Bharati. Rabindranath Tagore's education in the open amidst nature... If anyone thinks they can saffronize students, professors, So remember that even if no one is standing with them, I am with them."

Mamta Banerjee had also asked the university to apologize to Amartya Sen.

BJP should come forward and declare:

Earlier, Visva Bharati University Vice-Chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty had told reporters, 'We have submitted a letter to them and our allegation is that the land allotted to them as per the land deed is 1.25 acres, but Amartya Sen claims 1.38 acres.

BJP says that Amartya Sen should not get involved in such controversies.

BJP national general secretary Dilip Ghosh told reporters, "Amartya Sen is a role model for many and he should not get involved in such controversies. If there is any truth in it, he himself should come out and announce it."
