On Wednesday, February 1, the SBU searched the Kyiv developer and deputy from the banned OPZZ party Vadym Stolar.

He is suspected of involvement in the "laundering" of funds for Putin's godfather Medvedchuk and Russian citizens who are under sanctions in Ukraine.

This was reported by the SBU.

"The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a series of raids on representatives of construction companies in Kyiv controlled by one of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada from the banned OPZZH party. According to the investigation, these commercial structures were involved in illegal money laundering schemes in the interests of former deputies Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak. Similar schemes also worked for the benefit of other citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia, to whom the sanctions of the National Security Council, EU countries and the United States were applied," the message reads.

The SBU added that the searches were conducted to eliminate schemes for the legalization of financial assets.

"In particular, we are talking about the purchase of the corporate rights of Ukrainian developers by various offshore and Russian banks, and the channeling of funds from the sale of real estate to finance actions that harm state security. In order to obtain additional evidence of criminal activity, law enforcement officers searched the residences of officials and in the offices of construction companies," the message reads.

On this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Art.

437 (Planning, preparation, initiation and conduct of an aggressive war);

Art. 110-2 (Financing of actions committed for the purpose of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of territory or state border of Ukraine).

The investigation is ongoing.

We will remind, the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arahamia, reported that on Wednesday, February 1, law enforcement officers searched the Kyiv developer and People's Deputy from the OPZZH party, Vadym Stolar, banned in Ukraine.

Earlier, in the investigation of the journalists of "Ukrainian Pravda" it was said that Stolar did not attend a single meeting of the Verkhovna Rada from the beginning of the war until August 2022.

The deputy fled Ukraine a few days before the start of the invasion and did not return.

The deputy lives in an elite area on the Cote d'Azur, where real estate is the most expensive.

It was in this area that Akhmetov bought the most expensive villa in the world.
