From 30 to 200 citizens of Serbia

can fight against Ukraine as part of the Russian PMK "Wagner"

.

There are substantiated data indicating that citizens of Serbia are fighting in Ukraine as part of mercenaries led by Yevgeny Prigozhin.

On February 1, during a briefing at the Ukraina-Odesa media center, Serbian lawyer, head of the public group Octobar Chedomir Stojkovich announced this.

He noted that Serbian citizens are now being actively recruited for the war against Ukraine.

Stojkovic also said that he is currently trying to stop the work of PVK "Wagner" in Serbia, but his appeals to the court and the Prosecutor General's Office remain unheeded.

"I have reasonable information that Serbs are now fighting in Ukraine on the side of Russia. However, if Serbian intelligence was working at least 10% of what it is capable of, no Serb would be fighting on the side of Russia. Serbian special services know who hires Serbian citizens, who sends them to Moscow. And she could stop it. However, there is someone in the intelligence service who supports these people (recruiters) and helps them," the lawyer noted.

In his opinion,

the head of the Serbian State Security and Information Agency, Aleksandar Vulin, is a close person of Russian President Vladimir Putin and a friend of the head of the Federal Security Service, Mykola Patrushev.

He also said that many representatives of Serbian extremist organizations were visiting the office of the private military company "Wagner" in St. Petersburg.

"PEC "Wagner" is also an intelligence structure that openly works in Serbia and conducts intelligence. This cannot happen without coordination with the embassy of the Russian Federation in Serbia. For some time, the embassy's website even had instructions on how citizens of Serbia could join the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces . This is not legal, but the Serbian authorities did not react. I also appealed to the Serbian intelligence to stop the activities of PMC "Wagner", but my appeal was ignored," said the lawyer.

Stojkovic added that if the Serbian authorities ignore his appeal, he will appeal to international organizations - the UN and the European Court of Human Rights.

Participation of Serbian militants in the war against Ukraine

In January of this year, the Russian social network "VKontakte" published photos and videos allegedly depicting Serbian militants who arrived in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine.

Officially, Belgrade prohibits the participation of its citizens in conflicts abroad.

Serbian President

Aleksandar Vucic

said that Russia should stop recruiting Serbs for the war in Ukraine.

This is especially true for "Wagner" PVC.
