As of the morning of February 1, there

is a significant deficit in the energy system

of Ukraine .

Electricity consumption is at the same level as on Tuesday, January 31.

This was reported by the press service of NEC "Ukrenergo".

Ukrenergo explained that the reason for the deficit in the energy system is missile and drone attacks that damaged power plants and the high-voltage network.

"As a result of 13 missile and 15 drone Russian attacks, power plants (generating capacities) and high-voltage networks of the transmission system were damaged. The damage is complex and large-scale. The energy system is still recovering from the blows. In addition, several units of thermal power plants are under repair for technological reasons. As a result electricity production at operating power plants cannot fully cover consumption," the message reads.

All oblenergos have slightly increased consumption limits that apply throughout the day.

Exceeding the limits is not recorded at the moment.

But the company warns that

during the day, in case of non-compliance with the limits, emergency shutdowns will be applied.

Energy workers also continue to restore energy infrastructure facilities damaged during the last massive attack on January 26.

Missile strikes and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy system facilities

The energy system of Ukraine has already survived

13 enemy missile attacks and 15 waves of UAV attacks

on energy facilities.

In addition, more than 10 GW of the main installed capacities are currently inaccessible to the Ukrainian energy system and are under the control of the enemy.

This is the largest Zaporizhzhia NPP

in Ukraine and Europe

, as well as Zaporizhia TPP, Luhansk TPP, Vugleghirska TPP, Kakhovka HPP.

In addition, the majority of wind and solar power plants are also located in the temporarily occupied territories of the south.

As a result of the

massive shelling of Ukraine on January 26,

enemy missiles hit critical energy infrastructure facilities.
