The US State Department has appointed a new senior adviser on the Caucasus negotiations.

APA reports that State Secretary Anthony Blinken said this on Twitter.

According to him, Luis Bono has been appointed the chief adviser of the USA on Caucasus negotiations.

"His efforts will further develop our activities in the direction of peaceful resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus", Blinken noted.

Luis Bono is the Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States to International Organizations in Vienna.

He previously served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Holy See Embassy, ​​Director of the Basra Regional Office, Advisor to the Under Secretary of State (at the National Security Council) and Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs.

He also worked at the US missions to the EU and the UN, as well as the US embassies in Berlin and Islamabad.
