Military expert Valery Ryabykh believes that the Kremlin's statements about

Russia

's new offensive are an indicator of panic in Moscow.

According to him, currently the Russian armed forces are not capable of conducting strategic or operational-strategic operations, but only tactical ones.

The expert expressed this opinion on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

"First of all, it seems to me that all these statements about a possible re-offensive are evidence of panic in the Kremlin against the background of the frank impossibility of solving the existing military tasks. We have already seen many times how the tasks of the so-called "special military operation" have been transformed - says Valeriy Ryabykh.

The expert says that considering the execution tactics and capabilities of the occupiers, these are still tactical actions "that do not generally lead to a change in the situation in the theater of military operations."

According to him, there are currently two main tasks of the Russian occupation forces.

In particular, it is about activation until February 24, because "it is necessary to show the result."

"The result should be, according to military strategists in the Kremlin, the full occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with access to the administrative borders of these regions. The second task is to hold the temporarily captured territories of Ukraine as much as possible and thus ensure negotiating positions," the expert believes.

Ryabykh believes that the Kremlin wants to create at least some information drives, because the dictator Putin will probably have to make an appeal to his people on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

After all, he had an appeal on February 24, 2022.

"Probably, of course, now the Kremlin wants to provide at least some informational reasons so that this message can be at least formally considered as a certain success of the Russian military and political leadership," he emphasized.

A new offensive by Russia is likely

In a video message on January 31, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi

announced preparations for a new offensive by the Russian Federation

.

According to him, the state is already responding to such "preparation for an attempt at revenge".

At the same time, the head of state emphasizes: "Russia's defeat will make reliable and long-lasting peace inevitable."

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, emphasized

that Ukraine is vigorously preparing for a potential new offensive by Russian occupation forces

.

According to him, there is

"threats and challenges" for our state.

Analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War also

consider the Russian offensive to be inevitable

.

Probably, they are preparing to activate in the east of Ukraine, in particular in the Luhansk region.

This may happen in the coming months.

Meanwhile, military expert Petro Chernyk says that

Russia is running out of modern weapons and equipment.

That is why, during the probable offensive, the occupiers will bet on hundreds of thousands of mobilized and obsolete Soviet weapons, in particular, from the time of the Second World War.
