Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Union Budget 2023 on 1 February.

Rs 2.40 lakh crore has been allotted for the Railways in the budget.

After the presentation of the budget, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also made big announcements.

He said that after the success of Vande Bharat Train, now Railways is going to start Vande Metro Train by 2024-25.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Vande Metro is coming up with the concept to cover a distance of 50-60 km in the cities.

Production and design work will be done this year.

There is a plan to start it from next year.

The Railway Minister told that Vande Metro will run at a speed of 125 to 130 km.

Its design will be on the lines of Mumbai Sub-urban.

However, there will be no toilet facility in Vande Metro.

What will be the specialty of Vande Metro train?

The Vande Metro train will replace several trains designed in the 1950s and 1960s.

The curtain has not yet been removed from its design, but it is believed that the facilities in it will be more or less the same as in Vande Bharat trains.

The engine will be completely hydrogen based.

Due to which pollution will be zero.

Like Vande Bharat train, this train will also have modern brake system, Kavach safety system to prevent red signal braking, automatic door, fire sensor, GPS, LED screen, which will inform passengers about the next station in advance.

The fare of this train will be very low, so that poor and middle class people can also travel.
