In Kyiv, a cat picked up in Boyarka was found to have rabies.

The animal fell. 

The Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in Kyiv informs about this.

According to the information of the Association of Veterinary Medicine in Kyiv, on January 29, 2023, the body of a cat was delivered to the animal rabies control department.

The owner of the cats reported that about

three weeks ago, she found 2 kitties in Boyarka and sheltered them at her home.

According to her, the animals were in a cage.

"From January 27, inappropriate behavior (nervous manifestations, unprovoked aggression), refusal of water and food was noted in one of the cats. On January 29, during the transportation of the animal to the animal rabies department, the animal died," the report says. 

Based on the results of laboratory tests, a positive diagnosis of rabies was established.

The second cat receives a course of forced vaccination in accordance with the Guidelines for measures to control animal rabies.

The owner of the animal assures that the cat has not bitten people.
