The 48 new deaths were 33 males and 15 females, all of whom were in their 40s to over 90s. They were all severely infected, 41 had a history of chronic diseases, and 30 had not received more than 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The command center announced that the youngest woman in her 40s had a history of chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and had not been vaccinated against COVID-19. On January 3, she was tested positive for a positive diagnosis. On January 9, she suddenly suffered from shortness of breath. There were no vital signs in the emergency room, and the electrocardiogram showed arrhythmia and suspected acute myocardial infarction. Unfortunately, the first aid failed and passed away on the same day. The cause of death was a new coronavirus infection and respiratory failure.

According to statistics from the command center, since last year, there have been more than 9.5 million local cases, including 43,421 moderate and severe cases, of which 15,497 died.

In terms of vaccination situation, a total of 19,533 people were vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday, of which 16,235 doses were vaccinated with the Moderna next-generation vaccine.

At present, the population coverage rate of COVID-19 vaccination is 94% for the first dose, 89% for the second dose, 0.83% for the basic booster, 76.2% for the first booster dose, and 22.2% for the second booster dose.
