The Taiwan Water Supply Company stated that it is estimated to allocate 16 million yuan to first install a 2-meter-high and 32-meter-long steel pile retaining wall at the crack in the Shangren Street retaining wall to reinforce the Shangren Street slope.

The Public Works Department stated that a collapse was discovered during city government road inspections last year, and the water company also took some safety measures. It is hoped that the water company will complete the design as soon as possible and submit it to the Keelung City Government for review. They will focus on the water company and speed up the process to avoid subsequent hazards.
