In order to accept relevant documents, which contain calls for the international condemnation of the terrorist attack against the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran on January 27, the identification and prompt punishment of the organizers and perpetrators of the terrorist act, as well as the fulfillment of the obligations arising from the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. presented to international organizations and platforms.

APA reports that it was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It should be noted that the armed attack against our embassy has been condemned by about 100 countries and the secretariats of a number of international organizations since the terrorist act was committed until now, and the necessity of punishing the perpetrators of this act has been emphasized in the statements.

The Iranian side tried to prevent the terrorist attack from being widely exposed at the international level in the international organizations of which it is a member and whose decisions are taken by consensus.

In this regard, immediately after the attack, the Iranian side objected to the draft communiques and statements submitted by Azerbaijan to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Coordinating Bureau and the Asian Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures Council (CACEM) and prevented the adoption of these documents.

In addition, the Iranian side appealed to many countries to support its position in the aforementioned organizations, but only Syria and India supported Iran's position among the 120 countries in the Non-Aligned Movement.

The main claim made by these three countries when they opposed the adoption of the mentioned documents was that terrorist attacks in individual countries were not condemned in the Non-Aligned Movement and bilateral issues between these countries were not brought to international platforms such as the Non-Aligned Movement.

However, the Non-Aligned Movement has in many cases adopted a number of documents condemning terrorist attacks in member countries and emphasizing the protection of diplomatic missions.

We condemn this provocative step of the Iranian side and state that it must comply with its international obligations.

The Azerbaijani side will use all relevant international platforms to widely condemn the terrorist act against the embassy and punish the perpetrators of the terrorist act.
