Four of the main suspects in the assassination of former Haitian President Jovenel Moise have been transferred to the United States, where they will face charges, the Associated Press reported.

The agency notes that this is as a result of the standstill surrounding the case due to death threats addressed to the local judges in Haiti, which scared them, writes BTA.

Among the suspects now in US custody are James Solage, 37, and Joseph Vincent, 57, who are American citizens of Haitian descent.

They are among the first to be arrested in Haiti after Moise was shot dead 12 times on July 7, 2021, at his private residence outside the capital Port-au-Prince, the Associated Press recalls.
