Jaya Ekadashi Story: This time the fast of Jaya Ekadashi is falling on February 1 i.e. Wednesday.

24 Ekadashis of the year (Ekadashi Vrat) have been called the favorite dates of Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that Ekadashi Tithi (Ekadashi 2022) originated from Lord Vishnu, so it is blessed to be the best among all the dates of the year.

One of these is Jaya Ekadashi.

Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month is called Jaya Ekadashi and on this day fasting and worship is done for Lord Vishnu.

This time the fast of Jaya Ekadashi is falling on February 1 i.e. Wednesday.

It is believed that worshiping Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi on the day of Jaya Ekadashi not only frees one from the evil spirits, but the fast kept on this day gives fruits equivalent to Ashwamegh Yagya.

Let us know some remedies by doing which on the day of Jaya Ekadashi, the person gets the blessings of Shri Hari Narayan.

It is believed that donations made to the needy on the day of Jaya Ekadashi benefit many generations to come.

The person observing fast on this day should donate food, water, sweets, clothes etc.

Vrinda i.e. Tulsi is very dear to Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that Lord Vishnu is pleased by planting a Tulsi plant on Ekadashi and bestows happiness and prosperity in the life of the native.

On this day plant a Tulsi plant in the north direction and worship it.

Lord Vishnu should be duly worshiped on this day.

In the morning, after anointing Lord Vishnu, make him wear yellow clothes, offer yellow colored flowers, offer Panchamrit, offer Tulsi Dal, offer betel nut, cloves, cardamom and Makhana kheer in sweets and perform his aarti.

After this recite Vishnu Chalisa and also worship Goddess Lakshmi.

It is a belief that being pleased with this, Lord Vishnu bestows the blessings of salvation.

Follow the rules of Ekadashi

It is said that special rules for Ekadashi must be followed on this day.

For example, rice, brinjal, radish, garlic, onion etc. should not be consumed.

On this day, instead of sleeping at night, one should do bhajan.

Bad words should not be spoken.  

Don't break Tulsi or any tree leaf

Special worship of Tulsi should be done on this day, it is believed that Lord Shri Hari is pleased with it.

On this day, definitely offer Tulsi Dal leaves to God.

But basil leaves should be plucked a day in advance.

Plucking basil leaves on the day of Ekadashi is said to be prohibited.

On this day other flowers and leaves of trees should not be plucked.
