Melitopol

of the Zaporizhzhia region, on the morning of February 1, a large-scale fire broke out near the base of the Russian invaders.  

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported this.

According to local residents, thick smoke rose in the lower part of the city behind the central market.

The fire broke out near the Refma plant, where the occupiers had set up their military base.

"There were no explosions recorded, so probably the rioters fell asleep with a butt and it caught fire," Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said.

The details and consequences of the fire are being clarified.

It will be recalled that the occupiers sent

prison guards to Melitopol, who are looking for future members of the "Wagner" PMC among the prisoners.

Since the Russians will continue to withdraw their troops there. 

Russia is accumulating reserves in the Zaporozhye region and is creating

conditions there for a further offensive in the spring.

The former commander of the American army in Europe

, General Ben Godges, believes that in order to de-occupy Melitopol,

it is necessary to stop the movement of Russian logistics through Mariupol and Melitopol to Crimea.
