Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called on

NATO

countries to cross the so-called "red lines" and send fighter jets and long-range missiles to Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression.

He said this in an interview with LRT.

"I have seen many red lines that have been drawn, and sometimes I even get the impression that these red lines are not drawn by us, Western countries, democracies, but by the terrorist state Russia, which is trying to draw them through fear and threats. And it is trying to to impose," he said.

Gitanas Nauseda noted that the "red lines" have already been crossed several times.

"I'm not talking only about tanks. Once upon a time, the status of a candidate for joining the EU was a taboo, a "red line". I remember it well. Even when, say, the war began, Germany at first categorically stated that it would send only bulletproof vests, helmets and the like, but not weapons. But this "red line" was also crossed quite a long time ago," said the Lithuanian president.

"Because fighter jets and long-range missiles are an important military aid, and at this crucial stage of the war, when the tipping point is about to happen, it is vital that we act without delay," Nauseda said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has stated that Ukraine needs more heavy weapons from NATO allies, including fighter jets and long-range missiles, to resist the Russian invasion.
