Watering Tulsi: Know when offering water on Tulsi is avoided.

The Tulsi plant has special recognition in Hinduism.

According to belief, Tulsi is also known as Tulsi Mata.

Talking about the scriptures, there are many types of rules (Tulsi Niyam) regarding Tulsi, which are followed by the devotees to maintain happiness and prosperity in the house.

Tulsi plant is worshiped in the morning and evening, along with that, water is offered to Tulsi.

But, if we look at the beliefs, there is one day of the week when offering water to Tulsi is not considered auspicious.

It is said that offering water to Tulsi on this day has a negative effect on the prosperity of the house. 


When should not water be offered on Tulsi?

Tulsi is considered dear to Lord Vishnu.

It is said that the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi can also be obtained from Tulsi Puja.

Because of this, devotees offer water to Tulsi daily, while there is one day of the week when it is not considered good to offer water to Tulsi.

This day is Sunday.

According to belief, offering water to Tulsi on Sunday is inauspicious.

Apart from Sundays, water is not offered to Tulsi during Ekadashi and during solar and lunar eclipses.

It is believed that on offering water to Tulsi during these days, devotees play with the fate of Tulsi. 

If you look at other rules related to Tulsi, then even after the evening, Tulsi is not offered water.

Apart from this, plucking basil leaves after sunset is prohibited, doing so should be avoided. 


Instead of throwing away the dry leaves of the Tulsi plant, they should be buried in the soil.

Along with this, the Tulsi plant is planted in a pot in the courtyard of the house.

According to belief, Tulsi is not planted on the ground. 

Special care is taken that there should not be any kind of dirt around the Tulsi plant.

Cleanliness should be maintained around Tulsi.
