The MPs listened to the heads of the CFN and the National Revenue Agency in connection with NEXO.

Yordan Tsonev from DPS stated that there should be more regulation for cryptocurrencies.

"The BNB should also pay attention to control, because there are financial means behind the crypto," he said.

The head of the Financial Supervision Commission, Boyko Atanasov, stated that there were no signals from other European countries on the case.

"There must be a European legal regime on how to control it - we are in an exhaustive position. We cannot go beyond the framework of the current law and our actions will be meaningless," he also said regarding NEXO's activities.

BSP asked Atanasov when the investigation against NEXO started and whether money flows to political persons or parties were established, he replied that the investigation started when the case became public knowledge and he could not say an exact date.

"There is no legal framework for regulation either at the EU level or at the level of Bulgaria for cryptocurrency. There is no way for us to constantly be in the virtual space and watch for similar companies," the head of the FCS also said.

About "Nexo": The heads of the Financial Supervisory Service and the National Revenue Agency are listening in the National Assembly

During the hearing, it became clear that NEXO has registered several companies with a subject of activity that is not prohibited by law - from call center, outsourcing to software services.

Only in the US is there regulation.

The executive director of the National Revenue Agency, Boris Mihailov, explained that the company was fined, but it is not possible to say in what amounts, due to tax secrecy.

"We have started many checks on individuals without one because it died, as well as those on legal entities. All the names were given to us by the Prosecutor General. I want you to understand me correctly - the checks are carried out for months, maybe we will find differences from the declared ones funds and what they have, but these are only assumptions," he further explained.

Mihailov was categorical that this is a powerful company with 600 employed people and they paid their taxes correctly.

The NRA is not and should not check every single person who donates to a party, because that means exerting political pressure.

According to the law, an unlimited amount can be donated, explained the head of the NRA.
