According to the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, as of January 31, Belarus has not formed the strike group necessary for an attack on Ukraine.

In an interview with TSN.ua, the representative of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, told about this.

He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not stop his attempts to involve the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in the war against Ukraine.

"Putin will certainly not stop trying to involve Belarus and Lukashenka in a full-scale war and a ground operation against Ukraine together with the Russian army of occupation. However, today there are no signs that these attempts are successful. Neither those related to a political solution, nor those related to its practical implementation," said Yusov.

He emphasized that Lukashenko has not yet made a decision on direct participation in the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.

"That is

, the necessary strike group has not been formed on the part of Belarus

. Ukraine, of course, monitors all these events, as do our partners. And the Defense Forces are ready for various scenarios. Today we state that

such a decision has not been adopted by the Belarusian leader

," he said intelligence representative.

We will remind, according to Ukrainian intelligence data, as of January 25, there are 5,800 Russian military personnel on the territory of Belarus.

The GUR stressed that the EU is not at all the contingent that was at the beginning of the Russian aggression.

As reported in the DPSU, at least two weeks will pass from the moment of formation of an offensive group in Belarus to its possible invasion of Ukraine.

According to the GUR, currently the Belarusian army does not take part in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, but theoretically Belarusians can fight as part of the occupying forces as mercenaries.

On January 31, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the start of "joint staff training" together with Russian troops.
