The United States of America is ready to use nuclear weapons if North Korea dares to attack.

Amid the growing threat, Seoul is trying to get more guarantees from Washington.

This was stated by the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, writes DW.

"Austin promised that the U.S. will "seek to use the full range of conventional and nuclear deterrents to protect South Korea," the report said.

Seoul is seeking greater guarantees from Washington because of the potential threat from the neighboring country.

Earlier it became known that two Chinese and six Russian military aircraft entered the air defense zone of South Korea.

The South Korean military responded by launching fighter jets.
