Born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg. Prez had a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in which they discussed the situation surrounding the Armenian-populated enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in Azerbaijan.

This was reported by Reuters, citing the Armenian government.

The statement said the two leaders discussed the situation with the Lachin Corridor, a route that connects Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh through the territory of Azerbaijan.

The corridor has been blocked by protesting Azerbaijanis since December 12.
