The Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) congratulated its Merit Academician, Doctor Hugo Pérez Rojas, for having obtained the

Abdus Salam Nobel Prize in Physics.

This encouragement constitutes a well-deserved honor for Pérez Rojas, a scientist who has dedicated his whole life to Theoretical Physics, and also for the ACC, stated Lilliam Álvarez Díaz, PhD in Physical-Mathematical Sciences, secretary of the institution.

He recalled his status as Senior Researcher, of the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics, and founder of its Department of Theoretical Physics, for which he has just been awarded the 2023 Spirit of Salam prize.

A similar recognition was also received this year by the scientists Federico Rosei, from Italy;

and Tino Nyawelo, from South Sudan.
